Here is an inquiry I would send back: “We have liquid with some solids. Please quote a centrifuge.” Liquid is not named. Phase count is missing. So is the intended outlet. The machine has been requested; the job has not.
Fine particles? A suspension that takes its time settling? Two liquids holding together as an emulsion? Those are the moments to discuss a disc stack centrifuge. The vertical SENZ disc separator centrifuge is offered in solid-liquid two-phase and solid-liquid-liquid three-phase forms. Useful boundaries, certainly. A finished selection, no.
At the top of my page I would write either “2” or “3.” The first means solids with one liquid; the second adds another liquid of a different density. Not sure yet? Leave the question open, but name the streams the team hopes to get back.
That sounds almost too basic. It is not. A request for “clarification” can hide a three-phase duty, while the supplier reads it as solid-liquid. Two quotations may then use the same word and answer different process questions.
I use an outsider test. Give the note to the colleague who missed every project meeting. “One liquid outlet or two?” If the note cannot answer, it needs another line before anybody discusses a model.
Once phase count is visible, the next four blanks make sense: material, density difference, solids content, clarification target. That is the skeleton of the discussion.
“Fine solids” is a start, not a complete description. Name the material. Add any confirmed information the team already has and mark the gaps. That feed note is what makes a disc stack centrifuge review meaningful; guessing a value merely creates a cleaner-looking mistake.
Solids content belongs beside that description. SENZ identifies it as one of the inputs buyers should provide when asking about a disc stack centrifuge. Use a measured value or an honest range where available. If neither exists, write “not yet confirmed.”
Now state the clarification target. “As clear as possible” is difficult to quote and impossible to compare. The target may still be preliminary, but it gives the supplier something definite to discuss with the buyer.
I would not copy a model from the disc centrifuge range and treat that as selection. A catalogue introduces the equipment family. The feed and required split still belong to this project, not to the catalogue.
Sometimes the plant’s description is wonderfully plain: “The material settles, just not soon enough for our process.” Keep that observation. It is one of the duties for which SENZ positions the disc stack centrifuge.
What should not follow is a promised result. The disc stack centrifuge request still does not establish capacity, speed, G-force, or guaranteed clarity. A buyer should resist filling those empty boxes with numbers borrowed from another installation.
When uncertainty remains, ask whether discussing a representative sample would help the next disc stack centrifuge decision. It is a conditional next step, not an automatic requirement or a promised result.
A liquid-liquid emulsion changes the opening question. Two liquids now need names, and solids may be present too. Which side is lighter? The other, heavier? Record the known density difference and say whether the proposed duty is a solid-liquid-liquid split.
Precise nouns help here. “Oily material” could mean too many things. Write both liquid names if the team knows them. If it does not, put a question mark in the brief and ask what would resolve it.
This is the sort of liquid-liquid duty for which SENZ positions a disc stack centrifuge. Stop the claim there. No promised outlet condition; no pretend final design built from a preliminary email.
The quotation comparison improves as a side effect. One offer says solid-liquid. The other says solid-liquid-liquid. Now the mismatch is on the page, where the buyer can question it before buying anything.
The usual comparison question is “disc stack or decanter?” Sometimes that is the wrong frame. SENZ describes the disc stack centrifuge as a common complement to a decanter in a multistage separation line.
So I would ask a different question: what stream reaches each stage? If a decanter is already in the process, say that. Describe the material proposed for the disc stack centrifuge stage. SENZ supports the complementary relationship; it does not prescribe one universal layout.
For background on the other family, SENZ explains how a decanter centrifuge works. Read it as context. It is not evidence that one arrangement fits the feed now under review.
That distinction blocks a tempting shortcut: seeing two machines in one line and treating either as an automatic fit.
Take a blank paragraph. Put in the separation type, material, density difference, solids content, and clarification target. Five inputs; one readable request.
My opening would be blunt: “We are reviewing three-phase solid-liquid-liquid separation for…” Name the material next. Add only confirmed density and solids information, then the clarification sought. Unknown stays “unknown.” Have a sample? Ask whether seeing it would help.
That paragraph separates evidence from assumption. The supplier can respond to the actual fine-particle, slow-settling, or emulsion duty. The buyer avoids asking price and capacity to do the job of process definition.
Send that brief through the SENZ inquiry channel, then ask, “What do you need from us next?” Feed first, model later. That order makes the disc stack centrifuge conversation far more useful.
A: Look for fine particles, slow-settling suspension, or a liquid-liquid emulsion. They are reasons to investigate, not a substitute for describing the feed and required split.
A: Yes; the three-phase configuration addresses solid-liquid-liquid separation. Tell the supplier which liquids and solids are present, the known density difference, and the clarification sought.
A: Five items: separation type, material, density difference, solids content, clarification target. Where feed behaviour remains uncertain, ask if a representative sample would help with the next decision.
